Thank you to members and friends for attending the 2021 MAI annual general meeting on Sunday. It was a wonderful opportunity to say thank you for your support in the past year;
to recognise the contribution of our patrons Joanne and Malcolm Roberts, our committee and many volunteers; and to celebrate our successes and the fabulous artists within our community.

We celebrated and thanked Mary-Anne Boyd for her vision, enthusiasm, commitment, passion and leadership. Mary-Anne stepped down from her role as chair after four years, and as a committee member for six years. With her 'can do' attitude, her drive, her energy and her caring nature, she has been a wonderful leader. Mary-Anne puts great emphasis on community and community well-being - and makes things happen. At the official opening of the Mangawhai Art Workspace Mayor Jason Smith said “Mary-Anne is a force of nature. The simple truth is projects like this don’t happen in communities without great leadership….” Thanks for everything Mary-Anne, you’re a star .

We acknowledged and thanked Wendy Leach, Grace Cheng, Grant Mitchell and Christine Basham for their amazing contribution as committee members. Belinda Vernon was  elected as chair and we welcomed six new members.

Our vision 'nurturing and celebrating creativity and community well-being though art' brings together our vibrant, passionate, innovative and creative art community. We look forward to another successful year ahead.
