Kathleen Reynolds

Painting
Kathleen lives on a bush block in the Kaipara district and has been painting for 12 years.
She uses oils, is fascinated by and loves to paint New Zealand native birds, and is keen to explore
more abstract themes and stylised techniques.
She regularly attends workshops with tutor Elena Nikolaeva and has also studied under artist Frances Casey at the Ruawai Art Studio.
She enjoys the learning process, trying out new techniques, and sharing painting experiences with
other artists. For Kathleen, painting is relaxing and therapeutic. She says it’s time-out from the everyday world, and finds her appreciation of her surroundings to be much more ‘alive’ since beginning to paint.
Kathleen gained 3rd place in the 2015 Kaipara Art Awards.
