I was fortunate to be born and to grow up in S-Petersburg, Russia, a city filled with magical beauty. Naturally it penetrates into you from your very childhood - the architecture, bridges, sculptures, museums, all of which are interconnected with mythology and fairy-tales. As a result I never know from which deep corner of my memory images pops up.
I always was a visual rather than a verbal person. After coming to New Zealand in 1996, and changing languages, that aspect intensified. So what you see is exactly what I want to express. I also always like to do things with my hands, and that includes gardening in all dimensions ( structures -sculptures and mosaics as well). I have had a few dramatic changes in my life; I used to be a scientist (oceanology) after University, then got into "cultural underground" and later on into massage and meditation. Now I am living in the "Absurdistan" community on the Kaipara Harbour with friends, a dog and a cat. Email [email protected] Phone 021 1455 541 or 09 9733 651 |
