Linda Foster
.Linda has drawn and painted from early childhood and always dreamed of being an artist.
Linda took art as a Lynfield College student in the 1960s and later passed Elam Art School Entrance exams after studying art as an adult under tutor Jeoff Tune. She attended Auckland University studying art history, which remains a much loved fascinating subject.
Linda, while also raising her two children, had her own business as a display artist working mainly at Pakuranga Town Centre in the 1980s and was also a night school tutor (Edgewater College) in the same subject - ticket writing, sign writing and display art.
Then there was a two decade break running an architectural practice (ADC Architects) with her architect husband David.
Upon retirement Linda said it was with huge pleasure that she discovered ‘The Originals’ Art Group and then the Mangawhai Artists Association. “Coming to Mangawhai and to painting again was like coming home.”
Linda has opened her studio for several Art Trails and thoroughly enjoys the interest of both visitors and Mangawhai dwellers.
Linda Foster’s studio is a converted garage beneath the house at 18 Holiday Crescent Mangawhai Heads 0505
