Marilyn’s early life was in Scotland and Australia coming to New Zealand in the very late 70’s with her husband and children.
She developed an interest in art later in life. She believes she took after her mother who was an exceptionally creative person, primarily in the fields of Ceramics and Porcelain.
Marilyn’s interest is mainly in the field of painting where she is self taught in the main. Marilyn’s current focus is working with charcoal and acrylic paints and inks, working primarily in the area of abstract and contemporary work.
Marilyn is just holding her first exhibition (February 2019) in Mangawhai since moving here a year ago. She will now continue to develop her artwork in line with her studies in the art of technique and form.
