A Search For Joy - having spent a year producing a Virus Diary - it's time to explore the meaning of 'joy'. I will display new watercolours depicting morning light and old sketches that show my search for compositions that relate to contemporary art.
Lloyd specialises in contemporary style seascapes, with an emphasis on discovering interesting painting techniques to bring life and colour to his work.
Flora Tondo (Rebecca Barclay Clist)
Beautiful lacquered circular flower paintings by Flora Tondo. 'Tondo' means 'circular painting' in Italian.
Carol is a self-taught artist, inspired by the light and colours of Mangawhai. She works mainly in oils and acrylics and likes to include a bit of 'quirky' in her work.
Quirky mixed media sculptures and wall pieces.
"In my art I use different bits and pieces which the New Zealand environment offers – interesting driftwood pieces, leftovers from the building industry and various other found objects.
I think that our civilisation is very wasteful and I am trying to give some of these rejected items a second life as part of my art pieces."
I enjoy working monochromatically and the late afternoon light at Picnic Bay, Mangawhai Heads, has given me inspiration to paint this series.
