Opening in time for Auckland Anniversary Weekend this special exhibition opens at 6pm on 24 January with a silent auction running throughout the week and a Live Auction at 5pm on Saturday 2 February.
The items for the Live Auction will be on display at the exhibition. This is an opportunity to buy art and support us in building our gallery extension.

Mangawhai Artists Incorporated is growing; with 160 members we are fast running out of space.
We would like to be able to run workshops and community activities all year round, at the same time as holding exhibitions of members' work.
With workshops and community programmes being held in the building.

Following on from the Auction we will be launching a Pledge Me campaign during February and March.  The extension to the Gallery will be an artists’ workspace for classes and workshops, community programmes and year-round art experiences.

Mary-Anne Boyd, Chair of Mangawhai Artists says, ‘We are constantly asked if we can run more learning opportunities. And we are often asked when will we install a toilet!  We have listened to the community and been thrilled by community support in this ambition. Now, we have received all the consents and approvals we need – we are ready to raise the money.  We know we have the support and generosity of Mangawhai community to help us make the extension a reality’.
