About
We have wonderful exhibitions running throughout the year, with a new exhibition opening every fortnight.
"Mangawhai Artists Association was established in 2002 by Joy Agar and Sue Blinco. Initially, local artists hosted an annual art trail in conjunction with the Mangawhai Walking Weekend in early autumn.
Over time, more people joined, and a committee of volunteers began running the organisation, which was eventually registered as an Incorporated Society.
In 2015, we opened a gallery at 45 Moir Street, Mangawhai, and following an intensive community fundraising campaign, we launched our workspace in 2021.
Our mission is to fully support the artistic community year-round by hosting exhibitions and events that promote Mangawhai as a vibrant artistic region. We have over 180 members, most of whom are artists working across multiple mediums."
