Hannah Peri Braithwaite
Hannah has always been passionate about art since she was a child. She studied art throughout high school and in her senior years taught after-school classes to primary school students. Most of her adult working life has been in creative Internet and Advertising environments where she continued to paint in her spare time at home. Previously her work has been gifted to family and friends who display them in their homes across New Zealand and Australia. She has enjoyed travelling over the years, making sure to drag her husband along to many
galleries including The National Gallery in London, The Louve in Paris and Picasso Museum in Barcelona.
She enjoys painting with acrylics on canvas, using bright and bold colours. Her inspiration has always been drawn from powerful portraits of women and animals, however she has recently also delved into the world of abstract mixed media where she is enjoying experimenting and developing her style.
Since moving to Mangawhai with her husband and two young children, she has immersed herself into the art community with her first Art Trail over Easter this year, 2018, which was a great experience, meeting lots of artists and displaying her work to hundreds of people from the public. She is currently working on a mural with her daughter for the Waharoa (gateway) at Mangawhai Kindergarten and has entered into this year’s Kaipara Art Awards 2018. She will be joining two other wonderful artists at her first exhibition in February 2019 at the Mangawhai Art Gallery.
